With a quieter weekend of racing than we’ve been used to recently, that didn’t mean any less action as the Brits continued their run of success.
2018 Tartu ETU Triathlon European Championships
The junior Mixed Relay brought the Tartu ETU Triathlon European Championships to a close after four days of racing which saw British Paratriathletes win nine medals, Sophie Coldwell become European Champion and the Age-Group team amass 51 medals, including 19 gold.
The junior Mixed Relay squad of Erin Wallace, Sam Hart, Kate Waugh and James Chantler-Mayne were competitive throughout. Had it not been for a technical penalty incurred during the final change over, there might have been a medal on the line, but they had to settle for sixth place and a lot of learning for this young team to take away.
Chantler-Mayne had moved up to the silver medal position behind Portugal when the penalty had to be served. Germany and France ran through to claim the silver and bronze medals.
Results:
1. Portugal, 1:18:24
2. Germany, 1:18:32
3. France, 1:18:40
4. Russia, 1:18:45
5. Hungary, 1:18:46
6. Great Britain, 1:18:47
