Brownlee aims for 70.3 World title

There’s lots of action taking place this weekend, with Greece, Sweden, Switzerland amongst the locations in which are athletes will be racing for victory. Alistair Brownlee heads down to South Africa alongside Lucy Charles and Emma Pallant as the IRONMAN 70.3 race season comes to a close and Ben Dijkstra makes his return to action alongside a strong British contingent.

Isuzu IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship

South Africa welcomes athletes to Nelson Mandela Beach for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships. Saturday sees Alistair Brownlee return to the long-distance races alongside Mark Buckingham, Adam Bowden and Elliot Smales, the quartet each taking to the start line in a bid to be crowned 70.3 World Champion. Regular 70.3 competitors Lucy Charles and Emma Pallant will be aiming for podium positions alongside Fenella Langridge and Sarah Lewis when the women compete on Sunday.

2018 Zofingen ITU Powerman Long Distance Duathlon World Championships

Flora Colledge is one of two British athletes taking on the Long Distance Duathlon in Switzerland. After lifting the trophy in her age-group last year, she will be hoping to continue her podium successes as an Elite. Whilst in the Men’s race Julian Lings returns to the course for a second year running. The Great Britain Age-Group Team will also be going for gold this weekend.

2018 Karlovy Vary ITU Triathlon World Cup

Ben Dijkstra returns to the ITU circuit after recovering from a stress fracture that thwarted much of his season. He will be joined on the start line by fellow competitors James Teagle, Calum Johnson and Iestyn Harrett. Lucy Hall leads the way in the Elite Women’s race, joined by Beth Potter.

Greece welcomes up and coming youth athletes including Lily Jane Evans-Haggerty and Connor Bentley as they compete in a weekend full of events.

2018 Kalmar FISU World University Triathlon Championship

Harry Leleu, Chris Perham and Fergus Roberts are just some of the names competing in Kalmar, Sweden over the weekend. Leah Peploe makes her debut as an Elite Women after competing as a Junior in previous years. She’ll be joined on the start line by Bronwen Owen.
