Brownlee and Lewis line up for Lausanne ITU World Cup

Jonathan Brownlee heads to the ITU World Cup in Lausanne this weekend, his first world cup event for ten years, and it features a top-class line up. This is his final race before going to the ITU Grand Final on the Gold Coast. Andy Lewis and George Peasgood take on the Paratriathlon World Cup, also in Lausanne, and there’s and IRONMAN and Welsh Championship taking place too.

2018 Lausanne ITU Triathlon World Cup

Brownlee lines up in Lausanne at the ITU Triathlon World Cup event on Saturday. This will be the venue for next year’s Grand Final and it’s attracted some big names including the Norwegian trio that dominated the World Series event in Bermuda in April - Kristian Blummenfelt, Casper Stornes and Gustav Iden. 

Sam Dickinson joins Brownlee as he also prepares for the world championships.The women’s team features Lucy Hall, India Lee and Olivia Mathias, who will all enjoy the challenging bike course that Lausanne has.

2018 Lausanne ITU Paratriathlon World Cup

Andy Lewis and George Peasgood will also be in Lausanne for the Paratriathlon World Cup on Saturday. Both are heading for the world championships next month.

Lewis, who recently found out that his PTS2 category will not be included in the next Paralympic Games, said: “I want to give myself every opportunity to retain my world title, so this race is part of my preparation for the Gold Coast race next month and it’s the venue for next year’s world championships too.”

He added: “My classification has been omitted from the Tokyo Paralympic programme, and I’m gutted about that, but there are still opportunities in the sport and I’ve signed up for my first long distance race for next year too.”

IRONMAN

After setting a new record time at the IRONMAN France race in June, Corinne Abraham will be joined by Kimberley Morrison in at IRONMAN Kalmar in Sweden.

In Denmark, Tim Don is attempting to seal his Kona qualification at IRONMAN Copenhagen.
