Here’s what happened at last weekend’s permitted events across England.

South West

Cotswolds Sprint Duathlon

Sudely Castle played host to the Cotswolds Sprint Duathlon which became the second edition of Tough Runner UK’s popular run, bike, run. A large number of participants, from beginners to more experienced athletes took on the fast course that saw Tom Knight of Knight Racing record the fastest time of the day. The fastest of the women was Rosie Weston, who crossed the line after 01:14:38.

RESULTS

A fast course that invites both beginners and seasoned athletes to enter, the event is raced across a 5km run, 18km cycle and final 5km run through some amazing Cotswolds villages.

Tavistock Triathlon and GO TRI

Sportiva Events hosted a variety of races over the weekend, including a senior sprint, standard distance, TriStar 1, 2, 3 and Start, Youth/Junior and GO TRI distances. Donald Brooks recorded the fastest time over the standard distance, whilst Tom Epton achieved the same over the sprint.

Minehead Sprint Triathlon 2020

Well over 100 participants claimed their wooden finishers medal and t-shirt after completing the Minehead Sprint Triathlon over the weekend. It was Adam Fieldhouse and Matthew Cox that were among the fastest on the day, finishing with a time of 01:05:28 and 01:05:31 respectively.

The fastest women, Toni Senior, crossed the line in 01:16:16 after making her way through the 750m sea swim, undulating bike course and coastal run.

South East

Eastbourne Duathlon

TriBourne Events hosted a duathlon along Eastbourne’s seafront that encouraged both runners and cyclists to up the ante and give multisport a try. Kieran Lindars stormed through the 5km run, 19km cycle and final 2.5km run to the Helen Garden finish line to be the only athlete to reach the finish in under an hour. Nicole Allan of Loughborough Triathlon was the fastest out of the women, crossing the line in 01:09:30.

GO TRI High Lodge Winter Series Event 1

Can but Tri welcomed participants to Thetford Forest over the weekend for an off-road duathlon covering 11.75km in total. The event not only opened its doors to first time participants but encouraged lapsed triathletes to put their fitness to the test after a lack of activity over lockdown.

The event organisers experimented with the course this time around, asking participants to travel anti-clockwise around the course that is normally set out. The second event in this series is set to take place next month.

RESULTS

All these events listed for last weekend have been issued with a British Triathlon event permit, meaning their safety documentation and Covid-19 Secure measures have met the required standards. You can find upcoming events on the event search buttons below.
