The busiest weekend for domestic events in 2020 saw events across the nation taking place, offering a multitude of racing options at varying distances, disciplines, and age ranges.

South West

Cotswold 113 – 20 September

This fast middle distance triathlon took participants through the lakes and local villages of the Cotswolds with a 1900m swim, 56-mile cycle and 13-mile run.

Fix Individual and Team TRI Challenge 2020 – 19 September

Typically, a team event, this nature of the current return to play meant that the team option for this event was slightly different this year. Participants taking on the team variation would race as individuals before averaging their time between the three of them. Participants raced across a 400m swim, 20km closed-road cycle and 5km run to the finish.

Conquer the Chilterns – 20 September

Athletes travelled to the Thames Valley to take on their choice of sprint, standard and middle distance racing. On top of this, the event offered triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon, lake swim and run options, allowing for a variety of athletes to take in the scenic views.

KidstriUK Bognor Regis Triathlon – 20 September

Children aged 8-16 had a dedicated event in the South East over the weekend as the KidstriUK Bognor Regis Triathlon with races taking place in Tristart, Tristars and Youth and Novice categories.

Darley Moor September Junior and Sprint Duathlon – 19 & 20 September

The closed circuit of Darley Moor welcomed junior and adult athletes to the racetrack over the weekend, with the junior race being part of the East Midlands Junior Triathlon regional race series. Junior races ranged from TriStar Start, through TriStar 1, 2 and 3 and Youth distances.

West Midlands

Halesowen Triathlon – 20 September

Halesowen was the one event to take place in the East Midlands over the weekend. Participants took on a 400m swim, 21.5km cycle and a 5km run in and around Halesowen Leisure Centre with prizes being awarded to the first three male and female competitors to finish, and for the first male and female to cross the line in the over 40, over 50 and over 60 age categories.

North West

North West Triathlon at Alderford Lake – 19 September

Athletes that travelled to Shropshire this weekend were welcomed with a choice of either a sprint or super-sprint distance event that boasted an open water swim through a fresh spring lake as well as a fast and flat cycle and run to finish.

EpicMan Windermere – 20 September

A 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and half marathon run was what participants were met with at the EpicMan Windermere event on Sunday. Undulating roads surrounding the shore of Lake Windermere provided a picturesque setting for testing multisport event.

Yorkshire

End O Season Epworth Sprint Triathlon – 20 September

Epworth Swimming Pool welcomed triathletes to a 400m swim before they embarked on a 20km cycle and 5km run in North Lincolnshire.

GO TRI Hull September – 20 September

GO TRI returned to Yorkshire for a beginner event at Ennerdale Cycle Track that allowed for a traffic-free duathlon from Humber Triathletes. Participants took part in a a 2km run, 5km bike and a final 1km run.
