Alex Yee became Olympic Champion in Paris, while Beth Potter picked up a bronze medal as did the mixed relay team that included both Yee and Potter as well as Georgia Taylor-Brown and Sam Dickinson, now it’s your turn to race to the podium.

Fleet Feet Knockburn Standard Triathlon, Banchory, Scotland, 1 September
Our first championship event of the month sees Triathlon Scotland members race to become Scottish Standard Distance Triathlon Champion for their respective age group. Racing in the manmade Knockburn Loch to start things off, participants will complete a two-lap swim, totalling 1,500m before heading out onto the bike course.
The 40km bike takes place over three laps on country roads around the loch. Two laps running around the loch on grass, forest trials and gravel with a short tarmac section wrap things up as you head for the finish line.

Bala Standard Aquabike, Bala, Wales, 1 September
In Wales, it’s swim and bike action as Bala plays host to the Welsh Standard Distance Aquabike Championships. The 1,500m swim begins with a water start in Llyn Tegid, with the backdrop provided by the scenic Aran Fawddwy.
Participants then head out for a fast and flat 38km bike leg on closed roads, which head out along the shores of the lake and out towards the lowlands of Eryri. The finish line is back by the lake as the race ends in Bala.

The Vitruvian, Oakham, England, 8 September
The third race of the month is a Triathlon England National Championship event as participants compete to become Triathlon England Middle Distance Triathlon Champion.
A 1900m swim kicks things off as participants head into Whitwell Creek. The 84km bike leg uses the area surrounding Rutland Water across the three laps with participants taking in Rutland Village and woodland areas. Ending with a 21km run, it’s a race around Rutland Water’s perimeter with the finish line crowning the English Middle Distance Champion.

Bournemouth International Triathlon, Bournemouth, England, 8 September
The South Coast of England plays host to the first British Age-Group Team qualifier of the month with participants competing to book their spot at the 2025 European Standard Distance Triathlon Championships.
Under West Cliff Garden, a 1,500m sea swim starts things off before the 40km bike leg takes participants out towards the market town of Ringwood and back down to the coast again. After a quick stop in T2 the 10km run provides a seaside view as participants run along the promenade to finish things off.
Aviemore Triathlon, Aviemore, Scotland, 15 September
It’s another Scottish Championship event for the fourth race of the month, as Aviemore Triathlon hosts the Scottish National Cross Triathlon Championships.
Taking place at Loch Morlich, the 1,000m swim is a deep water start before it’s a 18km mountain bike course for the second leg. The course is mix of forest-lined roads and shorter single track forest paths making for a technical bike leg. Breathtaking views await on the 9km run leg with forest trails and open hills taking participants to the finish line.

IRONMAN Wales, Tenby, Wales, 22 September
Tenby plays hosts to the Welsh Long Distance Triathlon Championships at IRONMAN Wales. The race starts with a two-lap swim totalling 3.8km, starting at North Beach with zigzag stairs taking participants into T1.
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park provides a scenic background for the 180.2km bike leg before the beachfront takes over as the backdrop for the 42.2km run leg and the finish line.

St Andrews Duathlon, Fife, Scotland, 22 September
Time to run and bike at the Scottish National Duathlon Championships. The race is over a run, bike, run format at the famous St Andrews University. The first run is 5km, made up of two 2.5km laps before a 25km bike leg. The final run is one lap of 2.5km with the finish line coming up quickly.

Hever Castle Triathlon and Multisport Festival, Edenbridge, England, 28 September
Hever Castle provides the impressive backdrop for the European Sprint Distance Duathlon Championship qualifier at the end of the month.
Participants will run, bike, run their way to the finish as they aim for a spot on the British Age-Group Team. A 5km run starts off the event with a 20km bike ride to follow. With the finish line in sight the race ends with a 2.5km run.
Llandudno Triathlon, Llandudno, Wales, 29 September
We end the month with another European Standard Distance Triathlon Championship qualifier, this time in North Wales. The 1,500m swim starts close to the iconic Victoria Pier, with the swim itself taking part in the Irish Sea.
After a stop in T1, participants head off for a four lap 34.75km bike leg through Marine Drive and the Great Orme with rises of 207m. Once the bike leg is over, the finish line is in sight with a beachfront 9.4km run capping off the scenic race.
