The season isn’t over yet! The Brownlee Brothers are amongst a group of athletes heading from the Gold Coast to the Beijing International Triathlon and there’s plenty more World and European Cup racing this season. Laura Siddall is on the start line for the European Long Distance Championships and there’s a home IRONMAN 70.3 event in Weymouth featuring the likes of Will Clarke and Lucy Gossage.
Beijing International Triathlon
The non-drafting format Olympic distance race has attracted a star line up to the 2008 Olympic city. Non Stanford and Lucy Hall line up with Grand Final winner, Ashleigh Gentle (AUS). On the men’s side, Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee and Mark Buckingham have Commonwealth Champion, Henri Shoeman (RSA) to contend with.
Weihai ITU Triathlon World Cup
After winning Silver at the U23 World Championships, Sam Dickinson is in China alongside fellow U23 competitors Alex Yee and Barclay Izzard. There’s tough competition in the shape of senior World Series stars, Marten Van Riel (BEL) and Gustav Iden (NOR).

Alanya ETU Triathlon European Cup and Junior Cup
The beach resort city of Alanya, Turkey, hosts British athletes including Olympian, Gordon Benson and Grant Sheldon. There’s senior racing over the Olympic distance as well as junior sprint racing all taking place on Saturday.

Madrid ETU Challenge Long Distance Triathlon Championships
There’s a ETU European Long Distance title on offer in Madrid and Laura Siddall has been in fine form this year with multiple Ironman victories.

This late season IRONMAN race in the sun has attracted a good number of GB Age Group athletes. Reece Barclay is the sole British pro competitor.

IROMAN 70.3 Weymouth
IRONMAN hosts its final UK race of the year with some top athletes competing, including Lucy Gossage, Nikki Bartlett, Phil Graves, Will Clarke and India Lee.
Gossage, Bartlett and Graves will hope their legs have recovered after wonderful podium performances at IRONMAN Wales but they’re up against some 70.3 specialists, including Elliot Smales who won at both Staffordshire and Dún Laoghaire. Natalie Seymour returns after taking silver last year. Former ETU European standard distance champion, India Lee takes on her local race and it will be interesting to track her progress over 70.3 miles. There’s also Hannah Drewett who guided Alison Patrick to PTVI (visually impaired) world paratriathlon silver on the Gold Coast last weekend.
