The very first spots on the start line at two of Britain’s premier triathlon events are now up for grabs. Those who pre-registered for either the AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds or the Accenture World Triathlon Mixed Relay Nottingham ahead of midnight Tuesday 18 September will now be given access to an exclusive five-day window to secure their place ahead of the rush.

First up, we have AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds taking place 8-9 June 2019. This summer saw over 2500 participants cross the line and collect their medal in Millennium Square and next year is set to be even bigger; more than 2000 individuals have already stated their interest to take part in the next instalment of the event and will be given exclusive entry access from today at 3pm.

Fast forward a week and the Accenture World Triathlon Mixed Relay Nottingham gets underway on Saturday 15 June 2019. Three months ago witnessed a mixture of excited newbies and experienced age-group athletes compete on virtually the same course as the elite stars of the sport. On top of this, Olympic swimming hero, Rebecca Adlington also took to the River Trent, making up one third of a sprint relay team who were welcomed home in front of the iconic War Memorial to roaring crowds.

This year, the events have even greater status for amateur participants, with British Triathlon having announced this week that the British Triathlon Sprint and Standard Distance Triathlon Championships will be staged at the events in Nottingham and Leeds, respectively. On top of that, the AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds will also act as a qualifier for the Great Britain Age-Group Team, with the chance to get your hands on a sought-after GB tri suit. The added statuses ensure a heightened demand for entries, so advice is to secure your spot early to avoid missing out.

Both cities have become leading lights for the sport over the past few years, welcoming the very best triathletes from across the globe to showcase their talents in front of thousands of excited fans. Whether it be drawing out over 75,000 spectators to witness ITU World Triathlon Champion, Vicky Holland take the women’s title in Leeds in 2018 or exciting the crowd with the sport’s newest and most exciting discipline of mixed relay along Nottingham’s Victoria Embankment, June 2019 is set to as showstopping as ever.o

So, what are you waiting for? Make your 2019 challenge to take on either the AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds or the Accenture World Triathlon Mixed Relay Nottingham. You won’t regret it, we assure you.

Come Monday 24 September and the doors will be open to both British Triathlon Home Nation members and past participants of the events to secure their spot. Remaining places will then be on general sale from Monday 8 October.
