One of the final international events of 2021 takes place on Friday (26 November) and will see four British athletes take to the start line at the 2021 Asia Triathlon Cup Doha.

Marcus Dey, Ben Dijkstra, Iestyn Harrett and Oliver Turner will all line-up in Lusail City which will be the first international starts of the year for Dijkstra and Harrett.

Dijkstra, who claimed U23 mixed relay team silver at the 2019 World Triathlon Grand Final, will return to racing for the first time since 2020’s edition of the Karlovy Vary ITU Triathlon World Cup when he competes in Qatar.

Joining Dijkstra in Qatar will be U23 athletes Marcus Dey and Oliver Turner, who both raced in the Europe Triathlon Cup earlier this year, and Iestyn Harrett, who will compete internationally for the first time since the 2019 Funchal ETU Sprint Triathlon European Cup Final.

Turner and Harrett both competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games for Jersey and Wales, respectively, while Qatar will be Dey’s senior international debut outside of Europe.

Held over the standard distance, the course will see the athletes swim in the city’s marina, before a bike course, which will take the athletes near to the Lusail Stadium, and then what is billed as a flat, fast run around the marina.

The men’s elite race will start at 4:30am (UK Time) / 7:30am (Local Time) on Friday 26 November 2021.
