Christmas is coming early to GO TRI with Active Leeds and Leeds Girls Can introducing new exercises for each day leading up to the main event.
Beginning on Sunday 13 December, the GO TRI 12 Days of Christmas will reveal a new exercise to complete at home every day of the 12-day period leading up to Christmas. These exercises will then scale as it gets closer to Christmas day, so if the first day was a plank, the second day will be as follows, “on the second day of Christmas GO TRI gave to me five sit ups and a plank.”
Participants can complete the progressive exercises at their own pace, either taking them on all-in-one go or completing them throughout the course of the day.
Each exercise will be accompanied by a video demonstration recorded by our Leeds Girls Can ambassadors as well as a private Facebook group being set up to allow questions to be asked and advice to be offered.
Michelle Scott, Triathlon England Regional Manager for Yorkshire said: “During these uncertain times and with the majority of physical face-to-face cancellations, we felt it is more important than ever to offer something that people can access and be part of a team.
“GO TRI 12 Days of Christmas is free, easy to do at home in one go or spread throughout the day and allows you to feel part of a community. Don’t forget to wear your tinsel.”
To join, follow the link below and sign up through the GO TRI website before Thursday 10 December. Once signed up, you will be emailed the link to the private Facebook group. Introduce yourself to the other members and get yourself ready for the 1st day of Christmas.
Once the fun starts, the Facebook group is the perfect place to start sharing your pictures and videos to cheer on an motivate each other as you complete the challenges each day.
