A product of British Triathlon, GO TRI is a great entry-level way into triathlon and multisport. It’s free to join the GO TRI community and anyone can get involved with a variety of accessible events, training opportunities, and guides.

GO TRI was created in 2013 and has since held hundreds of events and activities, introducing new audiences into the sport with manageable distances at affordable prices.

To celebrate the growth and success of GO TRI, we’ve collated some of the key milestones in the journey so far…

GO TRI Launches

In 2013, British Triathlon announced its new product GO TRI, with the aim of making triathlon a more accessible sport for everyone.

GO TRI comes to the World Series

In 2015, GO TRI became the first race tailored for beginners at World Triathlon Leeds. Leeds welcomes people from all sporting backgrounds, and with triathlon heritage from Alistair and Jonathon Brownlee, GO TRI received a warm reception. In 2018, GO TRI made its debut at the inaugural Accenture World Triathlon Mixed Relay Nottingham and will be back for 2019.

GO TRI Gym Challenge announced

In 2017, the GO TRI Gym Challenge launched in partnership with DW Fitness First. The challenge consists of a 300m swim or 500m row, 7.5km bike on a static bike and a 1.5m run on a treadmill. The introduction of the GO TRI Gym Challenge aimed at reaching an already active audience, introducing them into the world of triathlon from the comfort of the gym.

Tri January

In 2019, GO TRI worked together with Deborah James and Lauren Mahon, hosts of award-winning podcast ‘You, Me and the big C’, Mike Bushell from BBC Breakfast and Paralympian and Strictly star Lauren Steadman. The aim was simple, to get more people active through swim, bike and run during the month of January. Tri January successfully introduced over 5000 new participants to the world of sport, with Tri January waves also being introduced to AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds and Accenture World Triathlon Mixed Relay Nottingham.
