As Outlaw returns to Nottingham in a packed weekend of multisport in the East Midlands, many regions welcome GO TRI events for the first time since the return to activity.

East Midlands

Outlaw X – 27 September

Thoresby Park welcomes Outlaw X for the second year after launching in 2019. With the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) announcing a $15,000 prize for the event, Outlaw X will see the likes of Alistair Brownlee, Tim Don, Adam Bowden, Nikki Bartlett, Lucy Hall, India Lee and many more talented athletes compete over the middle distance.

Beginning with a 1.2-mile lake swim, athletes will then battle it out across a 56-mile bike course through North Nottinghamshire before a 13.1-mile run will take them to the finish line located on the Thoresby Park Estate.

OUTLAW X

 

East Leake End of Season Triathlon – 27 September

East Leake offers a fast and flat course as we enter the autumn months. Raced across the same course as the event that takes place earlier in the year, many athletes will be tempted to beat their PBs, however, the event is also welcoming to many first timers with each event attracting more than 100 first time triathletes.

The East Leake End of Season Triathlon is raced across a 400m swim, 22km bike and 5km run with options for both relay and youth/junior racing.

Sywell Multisport Festival Weekend – 26-27 September

A weekend of multisport is set to take place in Northamptonshire at Sywell Country Park. An open water sprint triathlon will be split over both days of the weekend, boasting a reservoir swim, country lane cycle and a finishing run around the lake.

For participants only looking to dip a toe in, there are two swim-only options on Sunday morning, allowing for a choice of either a 750m swim or 1,500m swim. The festival concludes with an aquathlon on the Sunday afternoon to bring the weekend to a close.

GO TRI Her Spirit Nottingham – 26 September

In partnership with British Triathlon, Her Spirit brings GO TRI events to Spring Lakes Water Sports Centre in Long Eaton, Nottingham this weekend.

With a choice of three distances, off-road running routes and a stunning swim location, these events are an exciting opportunity for women of varying abilities and experience level looking for some multisport activity over the weekend.

South Central

Southampton Fast Twitch Triathlon – 27 September

On the edge of New Forest National Park, this pool-based sprint triathlon will feature a bike course that takes participants out the village of Beaulieu before finishing with a run out to Dibden Purlieu. Covering the distance of a 400m swim, 23km bike and 4.5km run, this event is great for both novice triathletes and those with more race experience.

GO TRI Reading @ Green Park – 27 September

This GO TRI that consists of a 2km lakeside run, jog or walk, followed by a flat 8km cycle and a final 2km run, jog or walk and is perfect for those looking to try out multisport for the first time in a friendly environment.

South East

Hever Castle Triathlon – 26-27 September

This event marks the final race in a series of castle-based multisport events around Europe. Accompanied by a festival atmosphere, the Hever Castle Triathlon will host a number of events including swim, aquabike, aquathlon, duathlon, and triathlon of varying distances including TriStar races.

GO TRI Welcome Back Duathlon – 27 September

This event in Suffolk will take GO TRI off-road this weekend with a 2.25km run, 7.25km bike and final 2.25km run through mostly flat trails.

North West

GO TRI Dunham Massey Duathlon – 26-27 September

One of the North West’s most popular GO TRI events, the Dunham Massey Duathlon welcomes all athletes, from beginners to age groupers to take on the duathlon. The course is largely flat and features some great sites of Cheshire and Dunham Massey village.

The event comes from McA Fitness & Events who were awarded North West GO TRI Event Organiser of the Year and Triathlon England GO TRI Event Organiser of the Year Runner up by Triathlon England in 2019.

Post Lockdown September Duathlon – 27 September

This is a friendly Duathlon organised by Ulverston Triathlon Club, offering the choice of two distances of either a 2.5km run, 17km bike and 2.5km run or a longer version of the event that challenges participants to a 4.5km run, 29km bike and 4.5km run to the finish.

West Midlands

Birmingham Triathlon at Alderford Lake – 26 September

Many athletes will be travelling to Shropshire to take on a lake swim, followed by a fast and flat bike course and a flat lapped run course that takes them around Alderford Lake. The event allowed for both beginners and more experienced athletes, offering the choice of Standard, Sprint and Super Sprint distance triathlon.

Black Country Triathletes Junior Aquathlon – 26 September

This event offers an opportunity for the children to take part in an aquathlon at TriStar 1, 2 and 3 as well as TriStar Star and Youth races. Distances range from a 50m swim and 600m run to a 400m swim and 4km run.

South West

Dawlish Triathlon - #TriSummer – 27 September

For seaside triathlon, Dawlish Warren will be the scene of a 750m sea swim followed by a 24km cycle and a 5km single loop run along the coast.
