Highlights of the British Triathlon Performance Coaching Conference

Published:

Last month, British Triathlon hosted it’s 2013 Performance Coaching Conference taking the early season opportunity to inspire the triathlon coaching community to deliver high-quality sessions to athletes from across the sport.

Over 90 triathlon coaches attended the conference entitled ‘Coaching the Individual Triathlete – People, Preparation, Planning and Performance’ at the Hinckley island Hotel; with delegates attending from a variety of backgrounds including club-level coaches right through to elite.

The conference delivered a diverse world-class programme of domestic and international speakers offering a variety of session topics that were of interest to all level 2 and level 3 triathlon coaches who were serious about learning, developing and continual improvement.

Ben Bright, British Triathlon Head Coach was delighted to see so many high-calibre speakers at the event, commenting: “It was great to see so many coaches from across the sport at the Conference. The conference had a great line-up of guest speakers, showing the attraction of triathlon as a sport and ensured a wealth of best practice from the world of elite coaching for delegates to learn from and implement within their own coaching environments.”

Paul Moss, British Triathlon Coach Development Manager added: “It was great to see so many people attending the conference, there was real enthusiasm throughout all of the sessions and it was clear everyone who attended learnt some new ideas and developed an understanding of best practice to implement within their own coaching methods. We set out to challenge people’s way of thinking and also provide an environment of industry leading experts that really facilitated learning for the coaches who attended.”
