Holland at Super League Jersey & what else is on this weekend

British Interest at Super League, IRONMAN and Age-Group Qualifiers this weekend.

ITU World Champion Vicky Holland is part of an all-star line up in Jersey as Super League series kicks off. Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee also feature. IRONMAN heads to Portugal and Oulton Park offers a final chance for Age Group athletes to qualify for international events. Away from triathlon, don’t forget to support Lauren Steadman in the first BBC Strictly public vote on Saturday. She’s made a fantastic start so far!

 

Super League Triathlon Jersey

The Super League season starts in Jersey this weekend and features Age-Group and Youth & Junior racing for the first time alongside the elite action at Elizabeth Marina. ITU World Champion Vicky Holland is making her Super League debut after missing out through injury in 2017 and will have some tough competition from British team mates, in addition to reigning SLT champion Katie Zaferes (USA).

Following his win in Beijing, Jonathan Brownlee will be on the start line with brother Alistair, Alex Yee and Jersey born Oliver Turner as the compete against reigning SLT champion Richard Murray (RSA) and last years Jersey event winner Kristian Blummenfelt.

Elite Women (3pm): Sophie Coldwell, Vicky Holland, Jodie Stimpson, Georgia Taylor-Brown, Kate Waugh

Elite Men (5pm): Alistair Brownlee, Jonathan Brownlee, Oliver Turner, Alex Yee

Portugal welcomes IRONMAN athletes for middle distance racing. The host town, Cascais, is just twenty minutes from Lisbon, offers a stunningly beautiful coastal course.

2019 ITU Sprint and ETU Standard Duathlon Qualifiers

Sunday’s Oulton Park races offer the final chance for Age Group athletes to qualify for the 2019 ETU Standard Distance Duathlon Championship taking place in Targu Mures, Romania. It’s also the final chance for those aiming to qualify for the 2019 ITU Sprint Distance Duathlon World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain.
