Huge success for British Age Groupers at Grand Final in Lausanne

The British Triathlon Age Group team secured 29 medals in the Sprint and Standard race at the Grand Final in Lausanne.

The British contingent consisted of over 600 athletes who took to the Sprint course on Saturday and Standard Course on Sunday.

Thirteen World Champions were crowned over the weekend after their excellent performances including Daphne Belt (Sprint) and Judith McKay (Standard) who won gold in the 80-84 age group.

The fantastic work that the Age Group team does throughout the year was evident in the number of strong races that were put in throughout the weekend.

Barbara Holmes, Sue Jackson and Linda Russell Bond all got on the podium in the 60 – 64 Sprint race making it GB’s only clean sweep of medals.

Dominic Coy was the youngest World Champion after winning the 16 – 19 age group on Saturday.
