Ibiza and GB U23s bring in the weekend


If there’s ever a way to end the season on a high, it’s got to be the Ibiza Multisport Festival. More than 1300 GB Age Group athletes are set to compete at the Multisport European Championships alongside the GB elite team. There’s more elite action in Eilat, Mallorca and South America.

2018 Ibiza ETU Multisport European Championships

Ibiza welcomes Elite and Age Group athletes from across Europe. Hannah Kitchen, European Aquathlon Champion in 2017 will be looking to defend her title this weekend and Sam Dickinson has a busy week, first competing in Eilat and then Ibiza in the search for more international medals. 1,332 Age Group athletes have come together to take on the variety of races across six days of racing – schedule HERE.

2018 Eilat ETU Triathlon U23 European Championships

Friday launches a weekend of activity in Israel with the U23’s competing along the coast of the red sea. ITU U23 Silver Medallist Sam Dickinson will be on the start line along with European senior top-ten finisher, Barclay Izzard. In the women’s race, Sian Rainsley is back after finishing third last year. She was also part of GBs winning Mixed Relay and could be part of the team again on Sunday.

2018 Salinas ITU Triathlon World Cup

Calum Johnson and Grant Sheldon will be in action in South America as they take on varied course with the promise of a mostly flat bike course. They face some tough competition, including World Series regulars, Crisanto     Grajales (MEX) and Matthew Sharpe (CAN) as well as newly crowned U23 champion, Tayler Reid (NZL).

Challenge Peguera-Mallorca

As well as the racing in Ibiza, the neighbouring island of Mallorca hosts another Challenge 70.3 event. Lucy Gossage is racing having given the howling wind and rain of IRONMAN 70.3 Weymouth a miss last month, and Chris Silver is trying something different after starting the season with a super sprint for Team Wales in the Mixed Relay at the Commonwealth Games in April.
