Important information on COVID-19

Published:

British Triathlon is taking the current threat of COVID-19 very seriously and are working closely with all the relevant authorities.

The Government’s current action plan to contain the possible spread of the virus states that there is currently no rationale to close or cancel sporting events, but this may change as the situation evolves.

On Monday 9 March, the Government is meeting with Sports Governing Bodies and broadcasters to discuss any changes that need to be made in the way events are run and any actions from this meeting will be shared widely.

For the time being, we will be carrying on as normal and following the latest advice from the government which can be found here:

For those travelling to sporting events overseas, the Foreign Office’s travel advice should be followed and travellers should note that apart from the countries and territories named in that advice, the government isn't presently advising against travel to anywhere else.

British Triathlon would like to remind anyone running events, training sessions or trips abroad that they must inform participants, coaches, volunteers and spectators of hygiene precautions to help reduce the spread of infection. For the latest infection control advice, please click here.
