Over 130 athletes from the British Age-Group team competed at the ETU Sprint Triathlon European Championships in Russia returning home with 31 medals: 11 gold, 11 silver and nine bronze.
Zachary Taylor and Emma Austin took the men’s and women’s 16-19 age group titles with Austin putting in a dominant performance finishing four minutes clear of Russia’s Elizaveta Arsenteva.
Holly Dixon crossed the line in 01:08:30 to win gold in the F20-24 category and in the men’s 20-24 category race, David Pearson put in a gold medal winning performance taking the tape in 01:01:12.
There was a British one-two in the F30-34 age-group category as Anna Larkins and Tylisha Preston won gold and silver medals.
Angela Wray recorded the quickest run time of 20:20 in the F35-39 age group and came home in a time of 1:15:17 to claim gold.
Following a strong swim and a quick first transition, Mark Yeoman never looked back and won gold in the M45-49 age-group finishing ahead of fellow Brit James Cox who took silver.
And in the F60-64 age-group, Karen Cole headed another British one-two finishing 30 seconds clear of compatriot Helen Evans.
Roderick Paton was Britain’s oldest medallist by winning bronze in the M75-79 age-group.
