British triathletes and paratriathletes secured nine medals racing across Europe over the weekend and into Monday, with five from the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.

2024 Europe Triathlon Cup Istanbul
Harry Leleu stood on the podium in Turkey as he finished third, just ahead of fellow Brit Ben Dijkstra (fourth). Leleu exited the water 8th just six seconds off the lead. At that stage Cameron Main was the lead Brit sitting in fourth. On the bike leg Leleu, Dijkstra, and Main were all in the front pack with Joe Sherman, James Chantler-Mayne and Fynn Batkin alongside them.
The run leg spread the field out with Leleu putting in the third fastest run time of the race to secure his spot on the podium. Dijkstra crossed the line five seconds behind his fellow Brit to take fourth place. Main was the next British triathlete over the line in 11th missing out on a top ten place by 11 seconds. Chantler-Mayne took 15th with Batkin 19th. Sherman ended the day in 23rd.
In the women’s race Annabel Morton was the only Brit to finish in 4th. Iona Miller was out of the water as the lead Brit in fifth with Morton 15th. The pair came together on the bike leg in the chase pack before Miller dropped out after T2 leaving Morton to run her way to a top 20 finish.
2024 Gdansk FISU World University Triathlon Championships
Michael Gar took home a silver medal in Poland and was just 10 seconds off race winner Enzo Bourdon of France. Jonny James joined Gar in the top ten, out-running Portugal’s Gustavo Do Canto for tenth. Hamish Reilly was next over the line for the British team in 18th with Sam Hart 28th.
In the women’s race Isabella Hayes finished in the top ten, crossing the line in eighth. She led out of the water and was amongst the lead pack on the bike leg with Katie Rodda for company. Hayes was the fastest of the Brits on the run helping secure her top ten finish. Rodda crossed the line in 22nd with Lara Atkinson coming 32nd and Katie Mathison completing a quartet of Brits in 40th.
In the mixed relay Gar, Rodda, James and Hayes raced their way to a fourth-place finish.
2024 IRONMAN 70.3 Poznan
Rebecca Anderbury won a silver medal at 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 Poznan thanks to the fastest run time of the race. She came out of the water in tenth with Megan McDonald the lead Brit in third place. Anderbury made up ground on the bike leg with the third fastest time of the race before putting in the quickest run of anyone to put herself on the podium. McDonald finished fourth while Abigail Bedwell who had been fourth after the swim recorded a DNF.
The men’s race saw Iestyn Harrett win a silver medal and put in the fastest run time in the process. He exited the water in fourth but lost ground on the bike leg, while fellow Brit Will Draper climbed the standings with the quickest bike leg by almost two minutes. On the run, Harrett was the quickest of anyone and ended the day just over one minute behind race winner Emil Holm. Draper finished the day in fifth with Thomas Davis behind him in sixth. Louis Buttrick made it a quartet of Brits in the top ten, crossing the line in eighth. Lewis Donovan came 17th with Ben Akin for company in 18h.
2024 IRONMAN 70.3 Zell-am-See
Kate Curran was the sole Brit in action in the women’s race and finished tenth. She came out of the water in sixth but lost places on the bike leg. She put in the tenth fastest run time in the 38-strong field to secure her place in the top ten over a minute clear of Sweden’s Anna Bergsten in 11th.
The men’s race saw Jack Hindle finish the highest of four Brits in 26th. John Thelwell crossed the line two places back in 28th with Sam Wordley in 30th. James Teagle recorded a DNF.
