Pallant-Browne, Teagle and Hall strike middle distance gold in Boulder and the Baltic

British athletes found success across the middle distance over the weekend as Emma Pallant-Browne took the tape in Boulder, Colorado and James Teagle and Lucy Hall both finished first at IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia.

IRONMAN 70.3 Boulder

Emma Pallant-Browne travelled to Colorado as Britain’s only representative across the 70.3-mile race. Despite this, the Brit added to her US medal tally with yet another 1st place finish to add to her podium finishes in Utah, Iowa and Florida.

On the cycle, Pallant-Browne found herself chasing Taylor Knibb who raced on home soil, but it wasn’t until the run where the Brit really came to life, breaking away in pursuit of Knibb before eventually catching the American. After overtaking, Pallant-Browne continued to the finish line, taking the tape with a time of 03:59:54 before being joined by Knibb in 2nd place and Jeanni Metzler (RSA) in 3rd.

IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia

James Teagle and Lucy Hall both continued their success racing in Poland after the two Brits struck gold at IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia. Teagle already took the tape at Challenge Gdansk in June whilst Hall also reserved a place on the podium at the same event.

The pair were yet again high achievers, both using their strengths to break away from competition. Hall establishing a strong lead early in the swim whilst Teagle pushed hard on the bike to ensure he entered the second transition in the lead.

Both athletes held their advantage throughout the race, taking the tape and winning gold in Poland. Teagle finished with a time of 03:51:54 joined on the podium by Robert Kallin (SWE) and Chris Mintern (IRL), with Hall crossing the line after 04:18:45 followed by Aleksandra Jedrzejewska (POL) and Katrien Verstuyft (BEL).
