British Triathlon are joining in the celebration of up-and-coming talent by supporting SportsAid Week 2020 from 21-27 September.
SportsAid financially supports developing athletes in a range of Olympic and Paralympic sports to help them realise their potential, and this week is all about raising awareness of SportsAid and the athletes they support.
The charity is encouraging everyone to get active during the week and share what they’re upto on social media using #MyMiles. In 2019, 51,001 miles were completed as part of the challenge that shines a light on the commitment and training of the next generation of athletes.
Triathletes and paratriathletes across the Home Nation squads are and have been recipients of SportsAid support for many years, allowing them to purchase equipment and cover travel and accommodation costs for domestic and international events as part of their development.
A number of athletes who have progressed onto the British Triathlon World Class Performance Programme were supported by SportsAid prior to receiving UK Sport funding, including world champion Georgia Taylor-Brown and Paralympic silver medallist Alison Peasgood.
Get involved and show your support by clocking up some swim, bike, run miles and share it on social media using #MyMiles and tagging us in - @BritTri.
