Four triathletes are included within Team Wales announcement of 93 more athletes confirmed for the Commonwealth Games, bringing the tally up to 124 in total. Iestyn Harrett, Liam Lloyd, Olivia Mathias and Non Stanford will all race on the Gold Coast in April as the women’s triathlon is set to be the first medal event at the Games.

Stanford, 29, will take part in the individual event, and then team up with the other three athletes in the Mixed Relay event. After missing Glasgow 2014 through injury, she is looking forward to joining the rest of the team on the Gold Coast.

She said: “Any opportunity to represent Wales internationally is special, so I’m really looking forward to racing on the Gold Coast.”

Liam Lloyd, 23, brings with him the experience of having competed in Glasgow, whilst Iestyn Harrett, 25, and Olivia Mathias, 19, make their debuts.
