This year has seen swim, bike, run events much reduced, however there are two events left before the end of 2020 and a range of events taking place across the country in 2021 for you to get involved with.
Both events are GO TRIs, with the final event of the year part of the pilot for British Triathlon’s new GO TRI Local initiative.
The initiative aims to bring swim, bike, run to the heart of local communities by offering regular opportunities to take part on the same course each month, giving participants the chance to track their progress month-on-month.
GO TRI Local Milton Country Park in Cambridge first ran in October before having to postpone the November edition, but now returns on Sunday 27 December. October saw 12 juniors and 11 adults take part with only one of the adults having taken part in multisport before.
One of two national pilots, those who attend will once again take on either a 1.5km run, 4.25km cycle and 1km run (adults – 15 and over) or 1km run, 2.5km cycle and 500m run (juniors – 14 and under) within Milton Country Park.
Before that however, MCA Fitness are hosting GO TRI Manchester Airport Christmas Duathlon in Wilmslow that will see participants run within a stone’s throw of Manchester airport, including through the tunnels that cross under the runway.
Once out on the bike, they will enjoy the Cheshire countryside on the 18km cycle through the suburb areas of Wilmslow, Ashley and Mobberley.
To help participants take part safely and in a Covid-19 Secure manner, the organisers have organised six waves over the weekend of 19-20 December allowing as many people as possible to get involved.
