The 2018 ITU World Triathlon Series starts next Friday in Abu Dhabi. Performances over the Series and at the Grand Final on the Gold Coast in September decide the 2018 ITU world champions, so it’s a major focus for our UK Sport Lottery Funded World Class triathletes.

The Series starts on Friday 2 March, and you’ll be able to watch it live via BBC. If you’re not able to watch live, the highlights programme will have some exclusive footage and interviews, including Tom Bishop and Jess Learmonth in the heat chamber in Leeds.

The ITU world champions will be decided by adding together ranking points from their best five rounds of the Series PLUS their Grand Final performance. In the World Paratriathlon Series, the rounds act as a mechanism to qualify for the Grand Final, where the world champions will be decided by who crosses the line first in each category.
