Becky Hewitt and Emma Springham have been selected for the Elevate Coaching Programme, providing them with learning and development experiences as they develop as coaches within British Triathlon’s performance programme.

Hewitt, Paralympic Next Gen Coach, and Springham, Paratriathlon Regional Pathway Coach, join 18 other coaches from 14 different sports on the six-month programme from September 2022 to February 2023.

The Elevate Coaching Programme provides female coaches aspiring to progress within their sport performance pathway with opportunities to observe, connect, network and learn through various activities during the six-month programme.

Speaking about being selected onto the programme, Springham said: “I was pleased to have even been put forward for the Elevate programme and super excited to have been announced as one of the selected coaches.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting other coaches who are on a similar journey to me from other sports, to be able to learn from them and hopefully add to my coaching remit with techniques and skills that other sports use regularly.”

UK Coaching will work closely with the 20 coaches and their sports to personalise the programme for each, helping to ensure the workshops, webinars and experiences develop their leadership and coaching capabilities within their performance pathway.

Springham continued: “I think the course will really benefit my coaching, mainly in helping me grow my knowledge base in coaching and confidence within the performance world, as well as grow into a performance coach.”

Springham and Hewitt were put forward by British Triathlon to be part of the programme as part of the governing body’s strategy to develop more female coaches and female coaching opportunities within the World Class Programme.
