New Plymouth ITU Triathlon World Cup, New Zealand

USA’s Kirsten Casper continued her good run of recent results with a win the women’s race, whilst Declan Wilson (AUS) won the men’s. A few Commonwealth Games bound athletes including Andrea Hewitt (NZL), were in the lineup but none of them reach the podium, possibly with their minds on the big race in ten days’ time.

Kate Waugh, a world junior medal winner, went up against experienced seniors having been based in New Zealand throughout the winter. She finished 24th. Ollie Turner was 40th as he prepares to represent Jersey in the Commonwealth Games.

Quarteira ETU Triathlon European Cup and Junior Triathlon European Cup, Portugal

Athletes met challenging sea conditions on the southern coast of Portugal, and the junior had rain to contend with as well, which meant the course was altered to avoid a potentially dangerous descent.

Chris Perham was 13th in the senior men’s race, which took place over the standard distance. There were excellent sprint distance top tens in the junior race from Issy Morris, Iona Miller and Cameron Main.

British Duathlon Championships, Bedford

Adam Bowden repeated his win from last year and George Schwiening won the women’s race. There were youth, junior, Paraduathlon and Age-Group titles handed out too, full report HERE.

Scottish Age Group Duathlon Championships, Stirling Duathlon

Debbie Greig and George Goodwin were the top performers in Stirling. Visit Triathlon Scotland for a full report.

Welsh Duathlon Championships

Harlech Castle set a stunning backdrop to the Welsh Duathlon Championships. Results are available HERE.
