There were six medals; two gold, two silver and two bronze in Italy at the ETU Winter Triathlon Championships, including a gold for Simon Hedley to add to the ITU World Championship gold he won last month. British Triathlon President, Ian Howard, represented the team well with a bronze medal.

The race covered a 6.25km run, 12km mountain bike and 10km cross country ski.

Challenge Wanaka

In New Zealand, Laura Siddall was agonisingly close to gold over the Middle Distance Challenge Wanaka course, eleven seconds in fact. It's the fourth time she's finished second at the event. The winner was Annabel Luxford (AUS) in 4:27:02.

Joe Skipper was seventh in the men's race as Javier Gomez (ESP) scored a seventeen second victory over Braden Currie (NZL).
