The women’s race was full of excitement, as Flora Duffy showcased her talent on home soil, making her attack less than two kilometres into the bike leg to go on to take the win. Jodie Stimpson and Vicky Holland worked hard on the bike, staying within the chase pack, before Holland and Katie Zaferes (USA) stormed out of transition breaking free of the pack. It came down to a sprint finish where Holland edged in front of Zaferes to take silver. Stimpson took eighth in her first World Triathlon Series race of 2018 with Georgia Taylor-Brown finishing in her highest position on the World Triathlon Series to date, coming in 14th.
There were no British Men racing in Bermuda, but the men’s race did see a first in the ITU World Triathlon Series as the Norwegians locked out the podium. Casper Stornes broke away from the main pack to ride solo for 30km and kept the momentum through the run to take the win. Kristen Blummenfelt came in second followed by teammate Gustav Iden.
