The Triathlon England National Duathlon Championships kicks off the 2019 season calendar

Ashridge Duathlon (Organised by Active Training World)

From Iron Age farms, Roman settlements and a royal park, to Capability Brown and two World Wars the Ashridge Estate, on the Hertfordshire-Buckinghamshire border, is brimming with history – and this weekend new names have an opportunity to write themselves into folklore as the 2019 Triathlon England National Duathlon Champions.

Saturday’s Championship Standard Distance Duathlon race course (10km run, 44km Bike, 5km run) takes in the views of the estate on a traffic free 2.5km run loop through the grounds, with the cycle route taking place on the surrounding country roads. Participants who have registered their intent will also have the opportunity to qualify for the Great Britain Age-Group team for the 2020 ETU Standard Distance Duathlon European Championships.

Sunday’s Sprint Duathlon follows a similar but shorter race course (5km run, 22km Bike, 2.5km run) and whilst this isn’t a National Championship event it does offer a second qualifying opportunity to represent the Age-Group team at the 2020 ITU Sprint Distance Duathlon World Championships (Draft Legal).

Please note to be eligible to win a Triathlon England National Championship title/medal you must hold a valid Triathlon England Race Licence. Further details on eligibility can be found on our website here.
