ITU World Triathlon Yokohama
Having stepped onto the World Series podium in both Abu Dhabi and Bermuda, Britain’s Jess Learmonth returns to the start line this Saturday (18 May) in Yokohama looking to repeat her fine run of form so far this season. This occasion holds greater value for the Great Britain squad, however, for if Learmonth or any of her four compatriots medal in the Japanese city, they will meet the criteria for the first stage of Team GB Olympic selection.
Leeds-based training partner Georgia Taylor-Brown and Non Stanford will start alongside Learmonth in a race once again headlined by USA’s Katie Zaferes, unbeaten in 2019.
Tom Bishop and Alex Yee fly the GB flag in the men’s race, the latter having taken silver in the ITU World Series opener in Abu Dhabi. For Yee, this will be his first standard distance race on the World Series circuit.

Yokohama ITU World Paratriathlon Series
Britain’s top paratriathletes willbe in the spotlight for the second of three ITU World Paratriathlon Series races of 2019. With Paralympic selection shifting the focus largely around WPS Montreal, the Tokyo Test Event and ITU Paratriathlon World Championships, and qualification points not up for grabs until later this season, this weekend will be an opportunity for athletes to get race-sharp and blow away any cobwebs following winter training.
Jade Jones-Hall, Melissa Reid, Clare Cashmore and Fran Brown will all open up in Yokohama, with Steve Crowley looking to build on his season opener in Milan. Races are available to watch live at www.triathlonlive.tv/videos/paratriathon-yokohama-itu-world-paratriathlon-series.

Cagliari ITU Triathlon World Cup
Two-time Olympic and World Champion, Brownlee returns to ITU racing this Saturday on a fast and flat sprint-distance course, with the Cagliari venue having shifted this year along the coast from the hills and harbourside to a sandy beach start this year, before the ride and run along the Spiaggia del Poetto waterfront.
There's equally strong British interest in the women's race with Sophie Coldwell and Beth Potter racing again after strong top 10 finishes in Madrid a fortnight ago, whilst Jodie Stimpson make her debut appearance of the season after injury.

Olsztyn ETU Sprint Triathlon European Cup
Olsztyn is the largest city and the capital of region of Warmia and Mazury, Poland, and hoist both a senior and junior European Cup this weekend. Five British seniors and one junior athlete are on the startlist, with Loughborough Triathlon Performance Centre pair Olivia Mathias and Sophie Alden the number one and two athletes ranked repectively.

Triathlon England National Standard Distance Triathlon Championships
On 19 May this Championship returns to Epic Events’ Southport Triathlon for a truly EPIC event. Southport Pier is the second longest in the country, but there’s more than second place on offer at this Championship! The swim, further than the length of the pier, is followed by a closed road bike route along the Southport sea front, before a run around the lake to the finish and potentially a Championship medal! The race is also an Age-Group qualifier for the 2020 ETU Standard Distance Triathlon.
Welsh Triathlon National Standard Distance Triathlon Championships
The TATA Steelman will start with a lake swim before heading out on a Multi Lap Bike Course before returning and completing 2 laps of the lake for the run. With a flat course, there could be a number of personal best for competitors as well as the opportunity for members of Welsh Triathlon to pick up a championship medal.
IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona
Last years runner up David McNamee will look to go one better this weekend in Spain, as seven British athletes line up for the middle distance race in Barcelona.

Eton Sprints
An Age-Group qualifier for the 2020 Malmo ETU Sprint Distance Triathlon European Championships is taking place at Eton Dorney Lake, one of the iconic venues of the 2012 Olympic Games this weekend. Starting with an open water swim in the clear, clean waters of the rowing lake before taking to the closed, flat road circuit for a 4-lap bike course covering 21.2k. The final 5k run follows an out and back course along the side of the rowing tank on tarmac paths.
