What's coming up this weekend

The Commonwealth games are in full swing with the Mixed Relay and Paratriathlon races taking place on Saturday. Fergus Roberts is also in Australia competing in St Kilda on Sunday.

Commonwealth Games – Gold Coast, Australia

Gold Coast, Australia hosts the remaining triathlon races at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday Morning with the Paratriathlete race kicking off the action. Paralympians Joe Townsend and Jade Jones-Hall are just two Paratriathletes representing their home nations.

England, Wales and Scotland will be sending mixed teams to compete in the Mixed Relay race 4am (UK time) on Saturday Morning. This will be shown live by BBC.

2018 St Kilda OTU Triathlon Oceania Cup and Triathlon Oceania Cup Championships

St Kilda, Australia, hosts the penultimate race in the OTU race series of 2018. Fergus Roberts, who has been training on the Gold Coast as a reserve for Team Scotland, will be racing against a small field of mostly Australians and New Zealanders.

Ironman 70.3 Oceanside, California, USA

David McNamee and Holly Lawrence are two high profile British starters at Oceanside in Southern California. McNamee was third at the IRONMAN world championships in Kona last October and Lawrence is a former world champion at the 70.3 distance (1900m swim, 56mile bike, 13.1mile run). This high quality field includes 2008 Olympic Champion and former IRONMAN World Champion, Jan Frodeno (GER) and ITU Long Distance world champion, Lionel Sanders (CAN). Start list here.
