What's coming up this weekend

We have three major international events coming up as part of a busy and exciting two-week period. Before we get to WTS Nottingham and Leeds, there’s the ITU Paratriathlon World Cup at Eton Dorney featuring an stacked line up. Nottingham is starting the build up already with 3000 triathletes racing there this weekend as well as races further afield in Kazakhstan and Barcelona.

2018 Astana ITU Triathlon World Cup

Lucy Hall starts her ITU season in Kazakhstan on Saturday. She will be competing against athletes including London-based Gillian Sanders (RSA) and Zsófia Kovács (HUN). Team Wales Commonwealth Games athlete, Iestyn Harriet will be competing in the men’s elite race.

IRONMAN Barcelona 70.3

Emma Pallant is in action as she takes on the Barcelona 70.3. Alice Hector, Natalie Seymour and Fenella Langridge will join her on the start line. David McNamee goes up against multiple world champion, Javier Gomez (ESP).

2018 ETU Sprint Distance Triathlon Qualifier Nottingham Triathlon

Nottingham hosts the Age Group qualification race for August’s ETU European Championships on Saturday. The event is part of a huge weekend at the National Water Sports Centre, where the Outlaw Half will also take place on Sunday, meaning that 3000 athletes will compete there over the weekend, including Olympian, Will Clarke and IRONMAN world championship runner up, Lucy Charles.

British Triathlon Qualifier and Triathlon England Championships

Southport will once again host the Triathlon England Championships as Age Group athletes compete around the flat, fast course. They will also compete for a chance to qualify for the 2018 ITU Standard Distance Qualifier or 2019 ETU Sprint Distance Qualifier.
