The London Marathon arguably takes centre stage for endurance sport this weekend, and will no doubt attract a lot of triathletes taking part. Jade Jones-Hall is lining up having just returned from her medal winning success on the Gold Coast. There’s an age group qualification event this weekend, as well as Challenge Mogán-Gran Canaria 70.3.

Challenge Mogán Gran Canaria

This race grabbed headlines last year as Alistair Brownlee made a winning middle-distance debut and Emma Pallant scored a victory of just six seconds over Lucy Charles. There’s a good quality field again this year, but just one Brit, Tom Davies, taking part. Davies, who competes for Race Hub, has competed in ETU Cup events and won over this distance in Bala last season and in 2016. He goes up against 2017 IRONMAN World Champion, Patrick Lange (GER).

Elite athletes: Thomas Davis
