Super League Triathlon ‘19
This weekend sees the return of Super League Triathlon (SLT). Dubbed “the Hunger Games of triathlon”, this competition features some of the greatest triathletes in the world in a variety of fast-paced events that shuffle the traditional swim-bike-run format of the sport.
Representing Great Britain for the men are Jonathan Brownlee, who ended last year’s competition with a bronze medal, and British Duathlon Champion Christopher Perham. In the women’s category, Vicky Holland, Sophie Coldwell and Georgia Taylor-Brown all look to build on their previous experience of SLT in last year’s contest whilst Olivia Mathias joins the roster as the youngest competing athlete at 20-years old.
Giving Youth and Junior athletes a taste of the action, there will be a girls and boys Enduro race in both age categories on Saturday. The top two male and female Junior athletes will earn a place on the start line for the semi-final of the Professional race, giving them an opportunity to qualify for the Championship race on Sunday.
Also taking place are a number of age group events, including a GO TRI race as part of the Tri Summer campaign.
IRONMAN 70.3 Cascais
Colin Norris wears the BIB number 7 for the Pro’s at Portugal. He races alongside Emma Pallant and Chantal Cummings. The athletes will find themselves cycling through the hills of the Oeiras and Sintra districts. Age Groupers will begin this race with a rolling start, among them, Daniel Barcroft and Steven Adams.
