Hartlepool Big Lime Aquathlon 3 June 

Open water sea swim in Jacksons Dock, Hartlepool Marina, next to the Historic Quay, followed by scenic 5km run along the seafront promenade. Swim 750m and Run 5k.

Northumberland Triathlon (Sprint, Standard & Relay Teams) 3 June 

Druridge Bay Country Park is situated on the beautiful Northumbrian coast and is the perfect venue for a great day out racing. Located right next to a stunning bay, on a beautiful stretch of Northumberland coastline, it’s a popular place to ride, cycle, walk, paddle and surf and perfect for a fun family day out. This is a superb venue for a 'first class' event and ‘ever popular’ this event will attract a large number and wide range of competitors of all abilities into both the Sprint and Standard distances. The standard of racing will be competitive, and spectators will be out in force to cheer competitors on, providing a truly amazing atmosphere.

Richmond Junior Triathlon at Barnard Castle 3 June

A unique opportunity to race around the grounds of one of the North East's most scenic private schools. Following a swim in the 18m length school pool you will ride your bike around the technical bike route of the main building perimeter. All the bollards etc will be removed for race day) then run around the fields to the rear.

Alnwick Junior Tri at Druridge Bay 24 June

Based around the Druridge Bay Country Park on the beautiful Northumberland coast, approximately 3 miles south of Amble.

The Alnwick Junior Tri @ Druridge is an open water triathlon for TS1, TS2, TS3 and Youth age groups. The open water swim takes place in the freshwater Ladyburn Lake within the park. The bike course will take you out along a scenic traffic free tarmac route between the park and the dunes, before you return back to the park to complete the run course around the footpaths and meadow tracks on the south side of the lake.

Spanish City Triathlon 24 June 

From first timers* to elites, this is the race to suit everyone. With fast bike and run courses, this is a great introduction for those looking to compete in their first open-water triathlon and anyone wanting to knock a few minutes off your sprint distance PB, then this is the race for you!

Sprint Tri Ponteland 1 July

A BRAND NEW pool based Sprint Triathlon at Ponteland Leisure Centre organised by Ponteland Tri Club, North East Region Triathlon Club of the Year 2017 and organisers of the GO TRI Ponteland series of events. We are expanding on our experience of running GO TRI events and organising a Sprint Triathlon for the first time in 2018.

Tri Life Warriors Regional Grand Prix Open Water Aquathlon 1 July

Enjoy the fun and friendly race atmosphere at the beautiful Hartlepool Marina.

The salt water Marina Aquathlon for TriStar athletes as part of the North East Junior Grand Prix will take place at Hartlepool Marina, the run route is on flat road which will take you along Jacksons Landing and the Historic Quay, with amazing views.

The event will follow the Junior TriStar format with distances as follows:

TriStar Start: 100m Swim – 800m run (Age 8) TriStar 1: 200m Swim – 1.5km run (Age 9-10)TriStar 2: 300m Swim – 2km run (Age 11-12)TriStar 3: 400m Swim – 3km run (Age 13-14)

Castle & Derwent Triathlon 8 July

A sprint and standard distance triathlon in rural Northumberland. A beautiful open water swim in Derwent Reservoir, a road ride around the reservoir, and mixed road/trail run along the shoreline. Hosted at the Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club, with access to the clubrooms, restaurant and free hot showers.

One Life Triathlon Hexham Triathlon 8 July 

Established pool based triathlon, located within the superb facilities of the Wentworth Leisure Centre, Hexham. The pool adopts an OW style format, followed by a fun, technical bike route on the adjacent car park for TriStars Start to TriStars 3, Youth and Adults on open roads, with the run then following on the adjacent athletic track.

British Age-Group Sprint Distance triathlon Championships Woodhorn Museum Triathlon

15 July

This perennial favourite is held at Woodhorn Museum in the QE2 Country Park which boasts a 16 hectare lake surrounded by developing woodland and open grasslands.

The swim will be in the warm shallow freshwater lake. The 'undulating' bike route will take you out towards Widdrington village, before sweeping onto the coast road near Druridge Bay and then along to Cresswell village with some breath-taking views along the coast line. The run will be on the footpath that winds its way through the woodland and open grasslands that surround the lake and passes the finish at the end of each lap making this ideal for spectators to cheer everyone on to a great finish.

The Woodhorn Museum Triathlon is an ideal triathlon event for individuals and relay teams of all abilities. You are guaranteed a great race.

Hetton Lyons Super Saturday Tri 21 July

Following last years great success and the North East Region's best kids event 2017, we will be retaining the same format of youth and junior heats in the morning and finals in the afternoon.

In between all this action will be open water races for TS1, TS2 and TS3 athletes racing for IRC positions as well as valuable points in the regional Grand Prix.

Redcar Sprint Tri - ITU Sprint Distance Triathlon Qualifier 29 July 

Fast and exciting race both to take part in and to watch. The race is on a fully closed road circuit right along Redcar's recently modernised seafront, large crowds are just about guaranteed on a summer Sunday at the seaside. The start is on the beach and the swim follows a course parallel to the shore. The bike is 6 laps of a flat and fast closed road circuit right along the Espanade. The run route is 3 laps of the circuit based around the boating lake and right next to transition. Unusually for a triathlon spectators can follow the whole race without having to go far from the transition area. Plenty of ice cream and amusements for all the family along the course.
