Race in individual races, compete for the regional series title or try to qualify to represent the North East.
To be entered for the North East Junior Race Series athletes must be between the ages of 8 & 16 (age as of December 31st 2018)
There are five age classifications based on year of birth.
Age for each group are as of 31st December 2018.
- Tristarts - 8 years old (born 2010)
- Tristar 1 – 9/10 years old (born 2008 / 2009)
- Tristar 2 – 11/12 years old (born 2006 / 2007)
- Tristar 3 – 13/14 years old (born 2004 / 2005)
- Youth – 15/16 years old (born 2002 / 2003)
Overall positions in the series will be based on the best 5 events, a minimum of three of which must be triathlon events. In addition there will be prizes for the highest accumulated points across all events in the series.

Like the last two years, to count in the GP scoring competitors must be a home nation members and must race a minimum of 5 races of which a minimum of 3 must be triathlons and 1 of those must be an open water race.
Whilst we endeavour not to change dates, sometimes circumstances beyond the control of organisers means this may have to happen on rare occasions.
