List of Events for 2019
The North East is just one of ten Triathlon England regions that provide an opportunity for young people to race against each other. These races are a great starting point for those wishing to enter their first triathlon event and offer a competitive introduction to the sport with the opportunity to claim points towards the regional league standings.
To compete for series points this year, in line with other regions, you must be a British Triathlon Home Nation member and have North East as your registered region.
To count towards the North East Junior Race Series individual league and end of season awards you must either live within the North East area or be a current member of a North East Triathlon registered club. If you are not a Home Nation Member you can still take part in any of the races, but you will not attain points towards the individual league or end of season awards.
To be entered for the North East Junior Race Series athletes must be between the ages of 8 & 16 (age as of December 31st 2019)
There are five age classifications based on year of birth.
Age for each group are as of 31st December 2019.

Like the last three years, to count in the GP scoring competitors must be a home nation members and must race a minimum of 5 races of which a minimum of 3 must be triathlons and 1 of those must be an open water race.
All events with bikes will be contested under the rules of restricted gears. We will be doing some education on this in the coming months but anyone who has done Hetton in 2018 in TS2 or TS3 will already have their gears restricted correctly. In addition there will be prizes for the highest accumulated points across all events in the series.
Whilst we endeavour not to change dates, sometimes circumstances beyond the control of organisers means this may have to happen on rare occasions.
If you have any questions or queries with regard to the above info then please get in touch with our Junior Regional Coordinator Janet Robinson
2019 promises to be a great series, Good Luck.
