Seashell Trust's triathlon for people with complex disabilities and special needs returns - this year with an added inclusive children's triathlon at the same time!

Whether you're a fitness fanatic or just want to try something new, GoTriSeashell is the perfect event for you. Every year, we're thrilled to see more and more people with complex needs and their families achieve something amazing - but we know that with the right support, and the right opportunities, our young people can do incredible things! The event is open to members of the community as well as our own students so please feel free to tell anyone who might be interested!

How it works

The two categories of event are the children's triathlon - an inclusive event open to 8-14 year olds of all abilities and disabilities - and the adapted triathlon for competitors aged 15 and up with severe or profound learning, communication and/or sensory impairments. 

A triathlon combines swimming, cycling and running, although all participants are welcome to compete in a duathlon (running and cycling only) if they do not wish to swim for whatever reason. All participants will be able to access our specialist equipment and facilities including a 1.2m deep swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, specialist bikes (including trikes, arm bikes and MotoMed bikes), accessible changing facilities and a Drive Deck - a wheelchair accessible moving platform that users can operate through a joystick or switch in order to control their own movement!

Participants will compete over distances that suit their needs and abilities.
