Inspired by the Olympic triathlon? GO TRI it for yourself

Published:

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and upcoming Paralympic Games have the power to inspire many inside and outside of the sport of triathlon. The GO TRI Active taster session at Nantwich is a great opportunity to take that inspiration and use it to give swim, bike, run a go.

Medals from Alex Yee, Georgia Taylor-Brown, Jonny Brownlee and Jess Learmonth, and the overall togetherness of the triathlon team that travelled to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games showcased the joys of multisport at the highest level.

Triathlon is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all abilities and backgrounds, from entry level taster sessions to racing for the Great Britain Age-Group Team and beyond, there’s a swim, bike and run for everyone.

Following his individual silver medal on his Olympic debut, Alex Yee said: “I still feel like a normal boy from south east London. I hope I can serve as inspiration to people to show this is possible. I’m not anything special, I just really enjoy sport and have been really lucky.”

The GO TRI Active taster session will take place on Saturday 4 September, running in partnership with Nantwich Tri Club in the build up to the North West Triathlon event based in the local area.

GO TRI is Triathlon England’s entry-level initiative, aimed at introducing swim, bike, run to beginners. Whether you’re looking to give multisport a go for the first time, or just want to take part in the sport in a less competitive environment, GO TRI is for you. Alternatively, if you’re a Home Nation member, why not bring a friend along and introduce them to the world of multisport.

The session with allow participants to enjoy swim and transition training as well as a short bike course recce and a final Q&A session. This experience will enable those participating to dip their toe into the world of swim, bike, run and develop an understanding of how race days work.

The GO TRI Active session will be led by a British Triathlon level 2 qualified coach and more information about the session, including what kit is needed, can be found on the button below.
