The 2018 NW EPIC KIDZ Junior series got off to a great start at the Wirral Aquathon, hosted by Chris Ball and Mersey tri club.

With over 200 athletes competing at the event, it made for an exciting close event in all age groups. Congratulations to everyone who competed, you all did amazingly well on a tough wet boggy course. Credit to Chris and his team who had to make changes at the last minute due to the sodden fields. It was a great turnout with representatives from BATS, Cadence tri, COLT, Ruthin, Mersey tri, Chorley, Wigan, Warrington to name just a few.

It was a tough day in the mud but all athletes showed great resilience fighting through the boggy terrain to complete the race. April is at packed month with the next event is at Salt Ayre, then the Lancaster Duathlon on the 15th April, Blackpool Aquathon on the 22nd April followed by the first Triathlon of 2018 at Sefton (Grass bike course), and then the Chorley Duathlon on the 5th May.
