Triathlon England Youth Forum and challenging events have partnered up to create the ‘Mini-Duathlon’ GOTRI as part of the annual Triathlon Festival.
On the 29th of February 2020 at the Southampton Ageas Bowl we will be hosting a junior duathlon for ages 8-14. This will include a 300m run, 1-mile bike and then a 150m run.
We are running this even to get kids into triathlon making it fun and safe for all, which highlights our aims as the ‘Triathlon England Youth Forum’ making it low cost (£10 entry fee) and accessible to all as it will enable kids to have a go at a shorter distance race in a safe setting.
As a forum we aim to develop youth participation by getting young people to just have a go. We are people centered, ambitious and inclusive. We want to remove barriers to involvement by creating a fun environment where we can connect kids by their love and passion of sport. We want to give all the kids that have a dream to get involved in the sport, may want to follow in the footsteps of their role model or even just want to try a new sport to get involved to just have a go!
