Local opportunities to compete in age group major events

British Triathlon Home Nation Core and Ultimate members are eligible to qualify to represent the Great Britain Age-Group Team at World Triathlon and Europe Triathlon Championships, as well as compete at English and British national championships.

Qualifier events for the sprint and standard distance triathlon and duathlon teams for championships in 2022 are taking place across the country this year, with a World Triathlon sprint and standard distance triathlon championship qualifier taking place in Eastbourne and a World Triathlon standard distance duathlon qualifier taking place at Hever Castle.

The Eastbourne Triathlon takes place on Sunday 6 June, with both distances starting with a sea swim, before a bike leg around the local area and ending with a run along the seafront.

Taking place at the Hever Castle Triathlon on 26 September, the standard distance world championship qualifier will see participants complete a 12km run, 40km bike and 4.3km run in and around the grounds of the castle.

In order to use these events as a qualifier for a 2022 championships, you will first need to register your intent to qualify with British Triathlon. Information on how to do this is available here

Also taking place in the region are two Triathlon England national championships.
On 4 July, the Triathlon England Middle Distance Championships will take place at the Festival of Endurance, providing Core and Ultimate members with the opportunity to compete in five-year age categories to become national champion.

The final championship event of the year will also take place in the region, with the Worthing Aquathlon hosting the Triathlon England Aquathlon Championships.
