The young athletes from the South East finished an amazing 2019 season with a convincing win over the London team at the annual Inter- Regional Duathlon.
Another amazing weekend for the South East Tristar and Youth athletes in October, for the sixth staging of the Inter-Regional Duathlon between London and South East Regions. This year it was the South East region's trun to host London at Cyclopark, Gravesend.
The event gave young triathletes the opportunity to represent their region, provided a valuable experience and also built relationships within each regional team, and between the regions.
The young triathletes from T1, T2, T3 & Youth of each region were invited to compete, with the South East region including athletes from Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
Races were over the following distances:
T1: 1.2k run / 3k bike / 400m run
T2: 1.2k run / 5.5k bike / 800m run
T3: 1.6k run / 7.5k bike / 1.2k run
Youth: 3k run / 10k bike / 1.6k run
The weather conditions were as good as could be hoped for in October and it just about stayed dry. The South East fielded a strong team and made the most of the home advantage to secure a comfortable winning margin, scoring 256 points to 182. Many congratulations to all of the athletes that took part!
