South West award-winning triathlon will return this summer under a new name as it enters exciting new chapter!

On 26^th and 27^th June 2021, Bowood House Triathlon will return to the eagerly anticipated race calendar at the stunning venue of Bowood House and Gardens in Wiltshire.

Since the first event in 2013, Bowood House Triathlon has gone from strength to strength under the organisation of LPS Events; attracting many first-timers, novice and regular athletes to participate in a truly stunning event which includes open water swim and picturesque closed road bike and run course.

This year as part of exciting plans for growth for his flagship event, Event Director, Luke Shipway (LPS Events) has made the decision to move Bowood away from his current portfolio of successful events and has secured investment from experienced event services specialist, Giles Hancock (raceahead Event Services Ltd) to form new company, Bowood House Triathlon Ltd. Under this new (but familiar) management, the event is expected to provide the best in event day technology; including race app and athlete tracking and introduce an exciting new look and feel to the race day experience.

Luke Shipway, Event organiser said; “Bowood House Triathlon has been a delight to deliver and grow over the years, and now with the help of Giles and his experience, I am incredibly excited for what is to come! We have some great plans in the pipeline and genuinely believe that we will deliver an incredibly special covid safe experience this summer”.

He added: “It’s been a pleasure to work with such a fantastic venue, not only is it a stunning location for our multiple distance events, but it is the perfect venue to create a family friendly atmosphere, which is what our event has come to be known for over the years and we will strive to continue.”

Bowood House Triathlon has won the Triathlon England South West Commercial Event of the year award two years running, and thanks to its multiple distance events covering Sprint, Super sprint and Tri Star distances, it continues to be a popular race amongst newcomers to the sport.

​Usually closed to the public for swimming, the course starts with a beginner-friendly, open water swim in Bowood lake, followed by a scenic bike course along completely closed roads. To finish off, you can enjoy an undulating run route taking in the beautiful scenery around the grounds of Bowood House including, the arboretum, the cascade, Hermit's Cave, and the historic Doric temple.
