Coach interview -With Club L2 Coach Ashley Tomlinson
When I joined GOG Triathlon I was new to the sport and the club helped me grow as a sportsman and as a person. So when I was approached about being a coach I jumped at the opportunity. It gave me a chance to give back to the club that has given me so much. Having study sports science in my younger days I was keen to learn new ways to coach and share my knowledge and experience. I trained as a level 1 and then later up to level 2 coach. I took over the Thursday introduction to coached run sessions and quickly found a love for helping to improve athletes and grow their love for the sport. I have lost count of the amount of runners who came to try out our sessions that are now triathletes. All because of the welcoming and friendly nature of our coaches and other club members. This club has a real sense of family and community.
Athlete interview with Paula Stevens
Training with the club drives me to improve and helped me to reach a potential I didn’t even know I had! I enjoy the club spirit and the friends I have made who share similar goals and positively encourage and support one another. The team feeling and camaraderie is second to none!
