Winner: Mark Edwards – Celtic Triathlon Club

Mark is lead coach for the Celtic junior section, Mark works with the clubs other coaches to ensure consistency above the board and plans sessions accordingly. He is a dedicated and passionate about ensuring the children train to the best of their ability and compete when they can. He makes the sessions fun and engaging (pokemon chat is a regular occurrence in zoom bike sessions) During lock down Mark put on a variety of zoom bike sessions and challenges to keep the kids active and training.

Mark inspires each athlete to be the best they can be, he challenges each of them and is always very proud of them all. The club recognises and appreciates the sacrifice Mark makes, sometimes missing out on family time so he can plan and deliver session for the club, Mark works hard to continue to grow and develop his own skills as well as growing the junior section.

Mark Evans – Celtic Triathlon club

Mark forever seems to be on courses going above and beyond to improve his knowledge to help others. He volunteers regularly for so much in the community for children and adults and turns up at nearly every single local event to support all athletes in the club no matter how long they have been members. Not only all that but he participates in events to, inspiring everyone. Mark has so much patience with members of swim sessions and still manages to coach the entire team while making something so individual.

 

Chris Hill – Recovery Lab

Chris has a unique and inclusive coaching style. Chris brings out the best in his athletes by application of experience and knowledge. He is genuinely invested in the success of those he coaches and is driven by seeing the progress they make. As a coach and a teacher, Chris is able to listen and adapt his coaching style to suit the needs of the athlete, ensuring that progress is closely monitored, and provision of feedback is regular. Chris has fantastic communication and people skills, which really do go a long way. He is patience, understanding and knowledgeable.

 

Justin Smith – Merthyr Triathlon Club

Justin works tirelessly to support /coach all members of the club regardless of ability. His aim to develop everyone and he makes a significant contribution to the club in providing a range of activities for all to participate in and is always looking for new opportunities to develop members but making sure its inclusive for all. Justin is an inspirational coach encouraging all ages to improve their performance. He collaborates with other coaches to provide the best of training for all members.
