Queens Batton Relay
When- 29th June to 3rd July
Where- Several locations across Wales
What- The Queen’s Baton Relay is set to travel from North Wales on Wednesday 29 June 2022, down to Pembrokeshire and across South Wales over a total of 5 days, before it’s final destination into England, culminating at the Opening Ceremony for Birmingham 2022 on 28 July 2022. Individual Events
When- Friday 29th July
Where- Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield
What- Both the men’s and women’s individual races take place on the 29th July. Racing over the sprint distance (750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run) athletes will race through the streets of Sutton Coldfield before finishing of with a tough run in Sutton Park.
Team Relay & Paratriathlon Race
When- Sunday 31st July
Where- Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield
What- The day will start with the Paratriathlon PTVI race, where Rhys Jones (link to bio) will be aiming to make history as Wales first paratriathelte at the CWG. Racing over the same sprint distance course as the individual events but in a non-drafting format the race promises to be a tough and competitive event.
The final triathlon competition at the games will be the mixed team relay. The format has changed this year to male, female, male, female with each athlete completing a 300m swim, 5km bike and 2km run before tagging their teammate. Its fast, exiting racing with no room for error!
