57 children get active between Christmas and New Year in Handsworth.
A fantastic new Christmas camp took place at the Handsworth Wellbeing Centre from the 30th December to 3rd January with many children returning each day (excluding New Year’s Day). This was a brilliant venture to be apart with in partnership with the Triathlon Trust, Co-operative, GO TRI, Sport Birmingham and the Diamond Football Academy.
Fuelled by food provided by the Central England Co-operative, children aged 6-14 were invited to the 4-day camp to take part in various swim, bike and run sessions and to learn about healthy living.
Provided with a nutritious breakfast and lunch each day, 57 local children took part in running games, bike sessions and a mini aquathlon and triathlon during the week, whilst also learning about the benefits of an active lifestyle and healthy eating.

We're now looking to continue the shared partnership with the Diamond Football Academy and support these sessions in February and Easter half term along with the Triathlon Trust in Handsworth
We hope to continue the success and help the local children continue their triathlon journey.
