West Midlands Regional Committee Roles

Do you have a passion to be a voice for your members? If so, joining the committee could be for you!

The West Midlands regional committee are in need of some roles to be filled, quite important as we need these for the regional committee to continue to run. 


Are you looking to be that voice for members? Would you like to create new aspirations? Or are you just looking for a bit more experience and knowledge within triathlon? If so, this could be what you’re looking for. It is our real objective to have as much representation across all clubs. If you do decide to join our committee and you’re not happy after three months you can pull out, there is no pressure. Please see our roles listed below with full descriptions Full training can be provided too. 


 Committee Roles

  • Secretary
  • Webmaster
  • Non-portfolio roles X2

Secretary Role Description

  • To act as the first point of contact for any queries regarding the regional committee
  • To arrange dates for meetings
  • To write minutes of all meetings and distribute them to committee members
  • To write meeting agendas
  • To arrange venues for meetings
  • To collect all nominations for the AGM
  • To organise the Regional Awards & trophies
  • To arrange venues & organise information for regional training days
  • To arrange venues for Academy sessions as needed.          
  • ​Training will be provided along with full support from the committee. 

Webmaster

  • To maintain the regional website 
  • Responsable to the regional chair 
  • Have basic knowledge for website design and maintenance 
  • Working alongside members of your Regional Committee and improving communication between
    members through an up to date website.
  • Attendance at committee meetings x4 per year

FULL training will be provided by your Regional Manager, Kirsty Outhwaite and/or a few hours in British Triathlon offices to sit with IT and go through everything. 

Treasuer

  • Maintain accounts; allocate any funding that the committee attains, including payment of expenses, and deal with any other
    financial matters that arise including CPD's, coach education etc...
  • Be responsible to the regional chair
  • Be an honest, well-organised who is able to keep clear records and be prepared to make financial decisions on behalf of the committee 
  • Attendance at committee meetings if necessary, and approximately 4 hours per month spent on maintaining the
    website. This will fluctuate depending on the time of year. 

​Non-Portfolio Role Description

  • To attend all regional meetings X4 per year
  • Strive with new ideas 
  • Voice your opinion
