A new initiative to assist developing athletes between 11-16 years old

In 2018 Triathlon England West Midlands launched  a new initiative to assist developing athletes  between 11-16 years old, to run alongside the West Midlands Regional Academy and  West Midlands Skills School.

Primarily the region is inviting TS2 and TS3 athletes (11-14 by 31/12/19) looking to try and qualify to represent West Midlands at the IRCS in 2019.

At future sessions we will be inviting Youth athletes (15-16) aiming to attend the Triathlon England Performance  Assessment Weekend  at Loughborough in April 2019.

All athletes attending sessions must be Triathlon England home nations members, who either live in the West Midlands or be a member of a West Midlands  BTF affiliated Triathlon club (same criteria as for the WM Series and IRCS).

Sessions will be held on a monthly basis and may, where appropriate, include sessions with the WM Regional Academy and WM Skills School.

The development group is aimed at West Midlands athletes wishing to develop their triathlon skills and hopefully progress along the talent pathway and competition map.

We believe that the numbers will again be heavily oversubscribed and with this in mind, going forward there will a criteria in being part of the development group.

The cost for development sessions  will be £5 each, which helps with venue/facilities hire.

Initially, please contact us by email if you wish to be updated with information about upcoming development sessions.
